About me

My name is Irving Dyson Jr and I have had a passion for working with children since before I could remember.
I am graduate of Texas State University's acting program (class of 2014) and have experience working with kids/students from two to nineteen either as a nanny or a teacher. In the past, I have worked for a family with up to four children whose ages ranged from one to eleven. Some of my day to day activities included, running errands, cleaning, cooking, and taking the children to practices. I consider myself a very active who loves sharing my passion for the arts and and of course Harry Potter.
Throughout the past five years, I have also worked as a pre school prep teacher (in Dumbo) as well as a drop off event coordinator. These two jobs definitely gave me the gift of patience and communication. Which is something that I feel is very important when working with children.
The summer before last, I had an opportunity to teach theatre at the Gathering Program located in Southern Maryland. This program was specifically designed for children who come from low-income families, students who have trouble reading, and students with behavioral problems. This particular job allowed me to introduce the arts to children who have never been exposed to the performing arts. This past summer, I taught variety of theatre classes which included short form improv, theatre games, building a character, and tools for acting at Stage Door Manor which is listed as one of the top acting camps in the nation. When reading about this opening, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share my knowledge, my passion, and to get another chance to work with children while living in the city.

Working more consistently on stage and on film. I also hope to get the opportunity to share my writing and my stories with the world.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Since teaching is also my passion, I hope to share my passion for the performing arts. In the past, I have created music videos, worked on songs, monologues, and audition prep with the children I babysat.
