About me
I am currently a student attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice, majoring in International Criminal Justice with a minor in Economics. I am concentrating on human rights and hope to one day be advocating for the rights of others. I feel my career goals reflect my personality. Having compassion for and caring for others is second nature to me.
I really love working with children, I find it to be one of the most rewarding jobs one could have. I have 10 years of childcare experience with children ages newborn - 15 years old. I worked at Manhattan Youth for 2 years, teaching early childhood classes such as MY Muscles, Little Literacy, Drop-In Art and Preschool Prep. I also worked for their after school program teaching K-1 Studio Art, Middle School Community Service, and 2-5 Girls Sports.I was a camp counselor for 3 summers at Southward Ho Country Club. Lastly, I worked as a birthday party host at Karts raceway and CM Performing Arts Center.
I am an advocate for imaginary play and experience-based learning. I would describe myself as creative and adventurous and as a caregiver I foster children’s creativity and sense of adventure, by trying new games, activities, and projects, while still ensuring a safe and secure environment. I feel down time should be spent coloring, reading books, doing puzzles, or other quiet playtime activities.
