About me

I'm a Southern transplant originally from Memphis, TN! I have been performing since I was 8 years old in talent competitions, recitals, pageants and musical theatre. The stage is a second home to me, which is why I uprooted my whole life to move here to the Big Apple, in the pursuit of Broadway! However, I have been interested in educating and nurturing children since, well, I was a kid myself! Since the age of 11, I have been babysitting, teaching at performing arts and church camps, and tutoring children of all ages. I decided to obtain a degree in Child Learning and Development from Bethel University in Mckenzie, TN and I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my B.S. and a professional license to teach in the state of TN. I went on to teach 1st grade before my wonderful husband and I moved here! I still keep in touch regularly with my former parents and students, and they are excited about "Mrs. Chelsea's" life in the city!

Children are the future of our whole existence, and it's important that we raise them with this idea in mind. I believe education is so important, but I also believe that we must teach our children to be well-rounded individuals; to love and accept others, to show kindness and humility, carry themselves with integrity, and to never settle for less than their very best! I also believe in allowing children to discover their unique and creative talents; we are all special and when we find out what that is exactly, we can begin to show that to the world! All of these ideas can be expressed through the element of fun! I love learning and teaching through fun; when kids are playing, they are learning as well!

I am hard-working, kind, positive, outgoing and punctual. I love working with children and helping them grow and succeed. To me, there is no greater joy than watching a child grow up in the way they should go. If we work together, anything is possible!
