About me

I’m privileged to say I grew up with positive role models-- parents who nurtured me, babysitters who took me on adventures, teachers who challenged me, a pretty cool Rabbi, etc. Reflecting on my childhood, I know that these role models shaped me into the person I am today. I also know that these role models have inspired me to pass on my patience, positivity, and imagination to the next generation of kids.

I’m blessed to have many opportunities to work with fantastic families all over New York and Westchester, honing my skills to be the best role model I can be. Working the after-school program at Iglesia Memorial de San Andres, the stages of Story Pirates, the classrooms of Brooklyn LAB charter school, and the playgrounds of camps at San Andres and Brooklyn Sprout Day Camp, I’ve learned the power of listening to children and working to build meaningful, positive relationships with them that will help them grow into awesome adults. I’ve learned practical skills, like how to measure progress in reading, design impactful lessons, or even safely mend the inevitable playground boo-boo-- but I’ve also learned broader lessons, such as how to decode kid language to hear what they really mean, and (my favorite) how to make kids laugh. Funny enough, in my quest for role-model-hood, I have adopted several more mentors in the form of teachers, teaching artists, social workers, and a really cool priest who have passed on lessons from their years of experience to me. Every time I work with families, I strive not only to honor the many role models who have made me who I am, but also to prepare the kids with whom I work to grow into role models for the next generation!
