About me
Originally from Australia, I moved to NYC in 2007, spent the last year working in Mexico and am now settled in Los Angeles. I am an ABA Therapist, with a psychology degree, having worked with children on the autism spectrum from ages two to teens.
I have been working with children since my teens. At 18 I was hired by the University of New South Wales (Australia) to teach Drama and Debate workshops for children at GERRIC (The Gifted Education Research, Resource & Information Centre), for kids aged 6-12. As well as being a long time babysitter for kids aged from six weeks to twelve years, I am also a qualified ABA therapist, and work with children on the autism spectrum.
Being an ABA therapist has taught me patience, kindness and flexibility. Every child learns and responds to situations in a different way. I make sure I always take the time to learn how the kids I work with think and learn, so that we're always on the same page.
I'm an energetic babysitter, and like to get kids involved in creative projects. I have a degree in both science and acting, and a love of learning which I always like to share! Making homework fun, and finding enriching after school activities specific to the interests of the kids I work with, is my specialty. As a filmmaker, I’ve been known to bring a long a go-pro for an afternoon, and teach kids how to film and edit.
I’ve worked with several amazing families in both Australia (where I am from) and New York, and still keep in touch with families as far away as San Diego and even Europe. I’m happy working in a family of any age and size, and look forward to meeting you!
