About me

I have been babysitting since age 13, when I discovered the Babysitters Club book series, and my friends and I were inspired to create our own. Since then, I think I have really evolved as a sitter – I pride myself on creating a warm and nurturing environment for children. I love children because of their innate sweetness and tolerance – children mean what they say and say what they mean! I love to foster the creative side of children, as I was a very creative child myself. Examples of activities I have led that promote creativity in children are writing and performing skits, arts and crafts (especially for holidays) and writing fiction stories.

I have worked with children in some capacity since age 13, and my favorite career I’ve had was as an elementary school teacher in Louisiana. I enjoy working with children because of their joie de vivre – children have a zest for life that is so infectious, and I find that I am usually in a good mood after spending time with kids. I am a creative and so I found my time in corporate America lacking; I decided to quit my 9-5 to start working with kids and auditioning on the side. I believe that I am a positive role model for children, as I have always concerned myself with following the right path in life and helping others. I spend a lot of my free time helping underprivileged children through New York Cares and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
