About me

I am a warm, compassionate and experienced early childhood educator. I earned my Master's degree from the Art of Teaching program at Sarah Lawrence College in 2017, and have been enjoying my work as a classroom teacher ever since. I am deeply committed to a child-centered philosophy of education and caregiving that places children's interests, social-emotional development, and wellbeing at the heart of the work. Right now, I teach toddlers, and I love my work supporting young children as they make meaning, draw, paint, construct, explore, discuss, ask questions, build friendships and learn. I have a special interest in arts education and I love to engage in creative projects with children, whether it's visual arts, storytelling, creative writing, dramatic play, scientific exploration, or something else entirely. I find this kind of work wonderfully exciting and fulfilling!

I have over twelve years' experience as a babysitter, and have worked with children ranging in age from sixteen months to sixteen years. While I have mostly worked professionally with the early childhood age group, I am comfortable working with children of all ages. I've taught preschoolers for six years, and have three years' experience tutoring after school for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade.

Outside of my work with children, I love to explore the city, go to galleries, art museums, concerts and theater performances, and I like to spend time outside whenever possible! I have a background in theater and am also interested in fashion, creative writing, and illustration.
