About me

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs I got to spend a lot of time with neighborhood kids. It wasn't long before I found myself looking after the younger ones, protecting them and taking on the role of a helpful older sister to many. Over the years I've worked with children of all ages and learned so much from every individual experience.

Working in theater and comedy has helped me become an excellent team player. I pride myself in being a good listener and treating every person with respect so they know they're heard and valued. It's important for children to feel secure and cared for, and I provide that by establishing a structured environment full of affection and patience. I'm also CPR and First Aid certified for infants and children, so I know how to stay calm in case of emergency.

I have a great sense of humor and I love making kids laugh while helping them discover what they love. I'm playful and inventive, which comes in handy when we're pretending to be superheroes or wizards or scientists. I incorporate all my passions into my work, which means engaging children with music and crafts, trips to museums, and involving them in cooking and baking, helping them learn with active involvement. At the same time I love hearing what interests them, and giving them opportunities to show me new games and hobbies to get excited about.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Performing comedy either onstage or on screen. It's become a wonderful part of my life and has helped me stay in the present moment and find the joy in moments that might not seem significant.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love making arts and crafts--working with construction paper and glue and colored pencils etc. I've shown kids how to make puzzles out of cardboard, how to make books and pop-up cards, how to make puppets and collages. It's exciting to see the forms their creativity takes. I also like to introduce kids to new music and songs and instruments. One of my favorite activities is cooking and baking with children--having them stir and measure and (best of all) decorate goodies we make together.
