About me

Taking care of children has always been a truly valuable and meaningful part of my life. I moved to New York from England as a pre-teen and found that being a babysitter is wonderful way to connect with local families and communities. It is for this reason that I have continued to care for children throughout university and my early professional career.

After graduating from Boston University, I worked with refugee communities in Amman, Jordan and then for legal aid in Manhattan. I am now studying at NYU Law. When I am not babysitting on the weekends, I am training for marathons, visiting new galleries, and taking ballet and yoga classes. These are interests that I also love to share with children, whether we go to music and art class or simply sing and dance together at home. For some families, Saturday night has turned into a weekly living room ballet class!

I truly believe in the value of a babysitter in the lives and development of children. It is invaluable for a child to have another adult in their life who can provide guidance and for parents to have someone to turn to when they need support, too. It has been such a unique privilege for me to watch babies grow up and witness so many firsts – first steps, first words, even first days of school! I find it immensely humbling to be the person to whom parents can entrust these special moments and milestones.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

When I was working with refugee communities in Amman and New York, my love for both childcare and advocacy work collided. In the future, I hope to be a lawyer and policy advisor representing the interests and needs of children in marginalized communities.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Discovering what makes a child excited to learn is one of my biggest goals when working for a family. Then, finding new, fun, and safe ways to explore these interests is the goal of my work as a caregiver. I am constantly engaged with toddlers and strive to teach, articulate, and repeat new words. With pre-schoolers and school-aged children, I start conversations about interesting topics, come up with fun projects, and find ways to make learning fun. We talk about numbers when we bake, discuss our observations as we go to class or camp, or simply learn new ways to walk to the park. In general, getting children excited about learning is something that I love to bring to families.
