About me

I became an aunt at age 13, and now, 14 years later, I am a very-involved aunt of 11 (!!). My initial experience with childcare was incidental, but it became apparent very quickly that I loved spending time with kids of ALL ages, and that they loved spending time with me. This led to me working part-time through the years with children-- for neighbors, family friends, and then full-time for a French family during my year living in Paris.

Since moving to New York, I have consistently had jobs as a babysitter, tutor, or personal assistant. While at times it has comprised a full-time schedule, typically I leave room in my week to work on propelling forward my company, which is a clothing start-up I seriously began a few months ago.

My philosophies towards interacting with children have evolved slightly over the years, but are based in principles that do not changed. I believe firmly in respect and personal responsibility. I believe that one's choices should determine the outcome of a situation, and therefore I will always follow through with an appropriate consequence or reward based on a child's actions. I am a fun, exuberant, and positive person, and hope to foster that optimism and joyful outlook to anyone I am around. I also believe that there is no excuse to not always be learning, and that no matter the activity, there is always a way for mental stimulation to be part of the equation. And I have found that with this attitude, no matter the age group I am with, I also can be constantly learning, which makes it fulfilling and valuable in more ways than one for me to be spending time with kids :)
