About me
My love for working with children started when I worked with younger Girl Scout troops. I realized the ingenuity of their perspective on life around them. While living and working abroad, working with kids in different cultures offered me alternative insights into the communities I was involved in. By involving myself in youth communities from a children's home in Kenya, novice monk monasteries in Taiwan to Environmental Education programs in Brazil, I have been able to develop diverse skills and understanding needed to communicate.
In the past 8 years, I have most enjoyed working with kids while learning about outdoor environments. While working at an aquarium, it was a gift to be able to foster a love for marine life; to help kids transform their fears of sharks and the unknown, to a curious compassion. When working with kids, I like to allow them to go beyond their comfort zone while securing a safe environment for them to do so. I have become certified in Pediatric, and Wilderness First Aid, CPR/AED, Lifeguarding and Rescue SCUBA in hopes of being able to work with children in these settings. I believe heavily in allowing children the freedom to make mistakes and helping them learn from them. In many of these situations, I learn just as much as the children do.
As I have become more stagnant in the US, I have been able to continue to care for kids through short term and long term nannying. From infants to young adults, I have enjoyed the responsibilities that come with each age.

- Toddlers

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Arts, crafts, exploration - anything to fuel kids sense of wonder and self-deduction. I love working with kids and helping them develop the skills to learn from and interact with their environment. I love activities that allow them to learn and decide for themselves, allowing them to take the lead and teach me their perspective. I love to fuel their curiosity in a safe, responsible manner.
