About me

I enjoy working with children because they are fun and honest, and we have as much to learn from them as they do of us. I like how taking care of them makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself, knowing I am helping them grow into the unique individuals they are.

My job experience is working with newborns to adolescents, but I also have experience with preteens and teenagers as I have three grown children of my own, two of which are twins, so multiples is not difficult for me. I love nature and being outside, going for bike rides, and walking. Therefore, I enjoy traveling and exploring with kids, playing in different parks, visiting museums and enjoying the different activities the city has to offer. I’m a vegan who believes in a healthy lifestyle, so I make healthy and nutritious meals for children in my care. I can be fun, energetic and engaging and I love incorporating them into everyday activities, such as cooking and grocery shopping. I like playdates as well, as developing social skills is extremely important for children.

Children need to be taught independence, order, and structure. I feel developing a routine is the best way to do this, as it helps children develop a sense of capability in doing everyday tasks, control over their lives, and it builds confidence in their ability to take on bigger things. Children should be allowed to be children and express themselves. I like that kids are extremely honest, but they should be taught honesty in a respectful way. I believe in structured discipline (timeouts, not rewarding unacceptable behavior, etc.) and holding a child accountable which aids in teaching responsibility and independence. I believe in kindness towards all living creatures and teach this wholeheartedly to children.

As technology continues to advance, I believe it is crucial now more than ever to help kids remain in tune with the real world. Kids have wild, vivid imaginations that should be supported and encouraged while still being taught reality. I love when children are curious and ask questions, as education is extremely important. I love teaching them and watching them grow.
