About me
I grew up in Atlanta, GA as a middle child from immigrant parents from South Korea. Singing, dancing, and acting has been my passion since I was a young child and I earned my B.F.A. in Music Theater at Elon University. After college, I took a brief hiatus from the industry and joined Teach For America where I taught 7th grade reading to over 400 students over the course of two years at Frank Black Middle School, a low-income, low socioeconomic school in Houston, TX. It was a formative experience that changed my life.
As a middle child of four children, I was brought up by my oldest sisters since my parents were always working, and I also helped raised my younger brother. As a first-generation Korean-American, I spent most of the summers of my youth with my church youth group at Vacation Bible School, where I facilitated activities for children pre-school-2nd grade. Duties included feeding the kids lunch, teaching praise songs, organizing arts activities, and playing with them outside in the playground. In New York for the past ten years, I have mainly worked with one family. The young boy’s name is Kieran, a very intelligent and high-need sensory-sensitive young boy. Duties in the early years with KJ included ensuring Kieran ate his meals, taking him to the playground to release energy, engaging with him through his favorite board games and arts and crafts, and equipping him with the sentence stems and verbalizations to express when he was feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or upset. Duties in the later years included waking Kieran up in the morning, providing breakfast, ensuring he took his medications, getting him ready for school, packing his lunch, and riding to school with him to drop him off.
It is my philosophy that, with the right support, children growing up in this amazing city can thrive to become open-minded, worldly, and intelligent individuals. My goal as a sitter and nanny is to provide the unique, custom support that the children need from me in order to become their most authentic, best selves. I believe that discipline and empathy are the cornerstones for raising children who are kind to others and effect change to better the world.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love teaching children how to discover their voice through different sentence stems and by modeling behavior. I define success as who you are, not what you do or what you've accomplished. I'm a big believer in boundaries, expectations, and leading with love. And none of this can be achieved without building trust and an authentic bond with the children I take care of.
