About me
I love exploring, creating, and learning with children. For the past 10 years, I have worked as an Art Teacher, Reading and Math Assistant, Babysitter, and Weekend Nanny. These experiences have given me the ability to respond to diverse needs — from inspiring budding passions, to ameliorating conflicts.
I began working with children by volunteering at my local Hebrew school in Sag Harbor, New York. Simultaneously, I worked as a mother’s helper for two girls. When I went to college, I eagerly became involved with the Community Arts Partnership. Through this program, I conducted art classes for high school students in which I facilitated figure drawing classes, screen printing workshops, and mural painting. I also worked as a babysitter for two local families; each family has two young children that I have been able watch mature. I spent the first two summers of College working as a Teaching Assistant for New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA), a rigorous visual arts pre-college program. During my final year of college I became a teaching assistant at a local elementary school, and an extended-day assistant at a Montessori Charter School. My passion for working with children has never stopped.
