About me

I am a recent graduate of Sarah Lawrence College with a concentration in Biology/Psychology/Pre-Medicine. Ever since I was very young, I have always truly enjoyed caring for children. Being the oldest sibling and cousin of a large family, I received first hand experience in childcare before I was even old enough to babysit for other families. I took my passion for kids and started nannying as a senior in high school, and currently have over 6 years of experience as a childcare provider, working with children as young as 2 months - 13 years of age, specializing in infant and toddler care.

Originally graduating with an interest in pursuing pediatric nursing and child psychology, I do have ample medical knowledge and an understanding of what makes a child tick! I have no problem with taking care of sick children and administering medication.

With that, in my experience as a nanny, I have learned that providing great childcare is based on a balance of imagination and structure. I find that children thrive off of rules, structure and routine, with tons of room to play, run, and use their big imaginations that I wish I still had! I strive to work with parents to develop a routine that will benefit the whole family, so that chores and homework can be accomplished in a timely manner, and bedtimes easy and on time so that little ones can be rested for the next day. With these gradual adjustments (or keeping these routines going), there is more time to play make believe restaurant and school, games, playdoh and painting, and trips to the park, museum, movies and more!

In my years as a childcare provider, what I've taken away most from each and every family that I've worked for is seeing the joy on a child's face when they accomplish something big. I think it is so important to create strong, long lasting bonds with families; I really take so much pride in watching your children grow into little people!
