About me

At the young age of 12, I began what I thought would just be a part-time summer job for a few extra dollars. Now after many years of caring for children, I have finally realized that I should build my career around their development. But before getting into what I aspire to do in my career, let me briefly introduce myself.

In a few words, I am an active, healthy, outgoing, and glass half-full kind of person. I participated in numerous sports and activities growing up including softball, cheerleading and choir and have always enjoyed keeping myself busy. Things have not changed. Some of my previous jobs included waitressing, telemarketing, and internships, but I have cared for children throughout each position. I've always enjoyed being given the opportunity to be a part of a child's day to day successes and have formed special relationships with each family I have worked for.

I received my B.A. in Communications with a focus in Public Relations. I have since developed a passion for all things wellness related and have realized that I would like to continue to work with children in a professional setting. I plan to go back to school next fall to pursue a Master's degree in School Counseling and eventually would like to become a certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant. I hope to one day combine the two as I feel that proper nutrition plays a large role in the way students perform academically.

The time I have spent caring for children and watching them grow has given me much satisfaction. I am excited about the opportunity to become welcomed into a new family and if given the opportunity to care for your children would provide a caring and engaging environment.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Settled in my career as a School Counselor. Over the next few years I plan to go back to graduate school to receive my Masters in School Counseling. Upon the completion of my masters, I would also like to become a certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant and hope to incorporate that knowledge into my practices as a counselor.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I would love to share my passion for cooking and nutrition with children, although I know not every kid wants to eat a bowl of quinoa and kale for lunch (yum!). However if they are curious, I would be more than happy to help teach them about healthier snack options. I like to think that my healthy habits rubbed off (somewhat) on the last girls I watched over. They were always asking questions about my diet and whenever they ate something nutritious, especially avocado, they made sure to let me know how healthy they were eating!
