About me

Simply put--children warm my heart. They always have. As the youngest of four,I know somewhere inside I have always wanted a younger sister or brother to look after! I completed undergrad in spring of 2016 and prior/leading up to college almost all jobs I have worked have been geared towards or centered around children and people.

From sitting for family friends and referrals, to working and volunteering in the Special Needs department of my high school, to running activity classes and birthday parties at my town's children’s gymnasium, to joining an inner-city after school program here in NYC while in college, as well as the child and development Psychology courses I have taken in the last two years in New York, I have always loved caring for and learning about children. They are teachers within themselves and there is always something to learn from them.

Reading and creativity (the arts, sports, movement, music, brainteasers, etc) are all hobbies and activities I incorporate in my own life on an almost daily basis. I can't stress enough how much reading, and expressive projects as a child made an impact on my growth and development during adolescence, and how the importance my parents placed upon these two categories manifested the values I now love to share and establish with children I personally share experiences with. Additionally, the love for outdoors and nature have always been a large constant in my life! I spend much of my personal time outside engaging in nature; listening or meditating, appreciating all that is around me. My inner-child is very much alive and well at all times!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I truly hope in the future to be continuing to work hard in a niche that fulfills my heart. Ideally I would like to incorporate psychology with work in childcare, perhaps as a school counselor, or a position in a similar role. Overall and most importantly, as I personally never like to predict the future, I hope to be making a daily difference in those I come to connect with. It's a major reason why I find babysitting and spending time with children so purposeful and fulfilling; it is a truly privileged opportunity to make a positive impact on the future youth.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Many of the activities I love to teach and share with children are skills and practices I do and enjoy myself, and incorporate in my daily life: Park trips, bird watching/feeding, baseball catches (I've got a good hand!), lacrosse, jump rope, hopscotch, soccer, painting, drawing, manicures & pedicures, exercises, story time, Beatles party, karaoke, colored construction paper projects (origami, etc), reading, legos, barbies, museums, ice skating, aquariums, zoos, nature walks, baseball games, pillow forts, dress up, picnics, bubbles, play-doh, hide and seek (a favorite!!), yoga, card games, cupcakes and cookies, hula hooping, monopoly, clue, and the list goes on!
