About me

I grew up with some incredible parents. They were truly, truly wonderful. They instilled in me a sense of responsibility, truth, humor, love, and so many more things that are too numerous to list. Because of them I learned how to care for another person in my day to day life, and so naturally I took to taking care of children. I started from an early age, first watching my younger sister then the neighborhood kids, until I started caring for children professionally. Being around kids has been such a blessing in my life, and has made it so clear to me how valuable the virtues of patience, love, fun, and kindness are!

As well as part-time babysitting and nannying, I have had the amazing opportunities to work with both the Presbyterian Church and the Girl Scouts of America in their summer camps. As a counselor at each camp, I was responsible for leading the kids through the daily camp activities, whether it be crafting friendship bracelets or becoming expert archers! I was also who they came to at night when they were missing home, who they sought out if they fell and scraped their knee, and who they found if they wanted to have a sing-along around the campfire. I learned so much about looking after kids during these experiences, and I wouldn't trade them for the world!

My theatrical background also plays a part in how strongly I feel connected to kids! I was involved in youth theatre productions all throughout my adolescence, and as I got older, I became involved in shows made for and about kids! I have had the wonderful opportunity to be involved in a few children's shows, where we toured around to different elementary schools and libraries, performed our show for the kids, then ran workshops afterwards focusing on the lesson that was taught in that show. These shows were such a fun, creative way to interact with the kids, and it helped them learn all about sharing, respecting others, accepting their differences, and more! Though it sounds cliched, I truly think I learn from them just as much as they learn from me! As a performer, it's important for me to stay open minded, adventurous and imaginative, and there's no one better at doing just that than a kid!

I have had such amazing experiences with the kids I have worked with through summer camps, babysitting, and nannying, and made wonderful connections with families that I know I will continue to keep in contact with! I am so excited that you are considering me to work with your family, and I can't wait to meet you!
