About me

I approach working with children with a collaborative and fun spirit. It started when I was 13 and an instructor at a sailing camp - I was small enough to climb into the one-person boats with the seven and eight-year-olds, and keep them calm, safe, and having fun while also teaching them to sail. I loved my childhood - my parents are both visual artists who moved from NYC to CT to have kids, so I was exposed to all the culture NYC had on frequent trips into the city while living in a calm and slow town in an art-filled renovated house, full of projects and creative energy.

I always have worked with children continuously in one capacity or another; early childhood curriculum developer, dance teacher, acting teacher, birthday party host, babysitter, volunteer instructor, and travel nanny are some of the titles I have held.

I am now a working actor in film, TV, and theater and freelance casting associate for documentary films. I continue to babysit in my spare time because it brings me a lot of joy - I enjoy having conversations with the kids I work with (kids are SO smart!) just as much as I enjoy diving into imagination games. I am confident in my ability to mediate and help children work through problems, and love teaching kids new things - whether it be a silly joke, the meaning behind something, a new vocab word, or a hilarious game they can show to their friends.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Doing what I'm doing now but at a higher level! I'm passionate about everything that is currently in my life, and only want more of all of it.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Anything that they are curious about! I love cooking, baking, and anything related to the arts. If kids are interested in checking out any museums, exhibits, performances etc I am always eager to accompany them and talk about what we're seeing! I have dance and theater experience, and my parents are both visual artists so I have tried my hand at the visual arts as well. If I hadn't gone into the arts, I would have gone into science or math - I was in an oceanography program and loved everything about it. I am also always interested in learning from kids about their interests - they have so much to share!
