About me

As an imaginative and creatively driven person, I believe in the importance of young minds. I therefore seek the opportunity to work with children and encourage them to explore and express themselves through art. In addition to my visual arts background, I have taught piano to children (elementary through high school), where I focused my lessons on classical music and sight reading. I also worked as a camp counselor for the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Summer Camp for over five years, and taught art at various summer camps for elementary through high school aged children. I volunteered with the Groundswell Murals Program, where I worked with youth in creating large-scale public art pieces that we developed to convey positive messages within Brooklyn communities.

I received a BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute, and have since been living and working as a freelance designer/artist assistant in Brooklyn. My artwork is a direct expression of everyday life, depicting both fantastical and whimsical fictional scenes that recall on an idealized past and playful reality. Though I have been living in New York City for nine years, I grew up in a small town in central Pennsylvania and my rural upbringing greatly impacts my work. I am extremely motivated, hard working, friendly, honest, and imaginative. Whether it be through art/music education, camp counseling, or babysitting, I value the brilliance in children and continue to feel inspired by working with youth. I believe this is because I am young at heart and just love exploring, building forts, playing outside, going to museums, and making anything craft related (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

At peace with my life. I hope to be surrounded by all my wonderful friends and family. I hope to have a career in textile design, more specifically to be the creative director of my own decorative wallpaper company, where I am able to engage creatively, travel, and make beautiful designs that inspire others to explore.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

The activities and skills that I love to teach and share with children are expansive. With my degree in fine arts, I am completely invested in teaching painting, drawing and sculpture as a means to cultivate imagination and creativity. I am also skilled in playing classical piano, and love to teach children how to make music. In addition, I am active and enjoy exploring, talking about nature, dancing, playing games, and creative problem solving.
