About me
My passion for working with children started at a very young age, and it hasn't changed one bit in the many years since. Growing up, I spent my college years learning about child development and eventually took my knowledge into the professional world, working in schools and in private homes - both teaching and caring for children ages newborn to 11 years old. I've had the privilege of working with truly wonderful children and families, which has only reassured my love for working with young kids. I absolutely love to spend time outdoors, exploring and being active, and encourage this greatly when working with children. Traveling is another huge passion of mine - seeing the world is something I've been able to experience with my own family since I was a little girl. Most recently, I've been lucky enough to travel the world with other families as well. It gives me great joy to see children's eyes opened to new cultures and to witness the incredible amount of knowledge and experiences they gain from these travels.
In addition to my my experiences working in private homes and traveling with families, I have had the pleasure of working as a family assistant. I've found this to be something I really love - keeping the household and family life running smoothy and efficiently is something I've taken great pride in. All in all, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences working with children and families over the last ten years and feel very fortunate that they have made me into the person that I am today.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In 5 years I'm confident I will continue my work with children. I have not yet narrowed down a specific area of child development that I would like to work in, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will be working to encourage and promote a positive lifestyle and upbringing for children.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to encourage exploration when I'm with children. I love to open their eyes to new ways of thinking and seeing the world. They are sponges and have the capability to easily absorb the information we are willing to teach them. It's a matter of simply recognizing an interest they have and really taking the time to explore the specific interest - whether that be creating an art project or taking a trip to a museum. Children benefit greatly from an adult expressing great interest in their life and their curiosities and that's something I really appreciate in young children. I work hard to show my support and excitement in exploring new ideas with them.
