About me

I grew up in Bricktown NJ, my mom is a singer and a retired teacher and my dad is a systems engineer. I have one older brother, who recently made me the godmother to his youngest! As a child, I spent many hours shadowing my mom while she sang at church and eventually started singing myself. I have been singing ever since, and was in every choir from grade school to college. In college, I majored in Sociology. Upon graduating, I spent a year substitute teaching grade and since then I have been working as an actor!

I started babysitting for two young children when I was eleven! I have been babysitting/nannying on and off since then. When I moved to the city years ago, I started with Smart Sitting and from there I worked for a family for about a year and a half. They had two kids, age 4 and 6. I did school pick up, snacks, activities, dinner and bedtime. I am very comfortable in the kitchen, and I would sometimes pick up laundry or cleaning duties. After that, I took a bit of a hiatus and worked as a temp at various places throughout Manhattan. I was at the MoMa for quite some time!

After temping, I started nannying again and I worked with two little girls. The girls were 5 and 9. I assisted in the home in a similar fashion with them as I had done with my previous family. I also started to tutor, and I would do the occasional Saturday night date night babysitting.

I left NYC in March of 2020 and I relocated to my parents in NJ. During that time, I nannied for a family with a little one of 2 years old while they were prepping for their second child.

I have been a kid magnet for as long as I can remember, and as I have gained experience with children, families and life, I have learned the things most important to me as a caregiver are trust, empathy, consistency and honesty. Caring for another persons’ child can sometimes be a challenge ( as life can often be a challenge), with some care and concern, you can create a wonderful environment to help a child feel safe enough to be who they are and grow into whatever may come next.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

That is a tricky question. Honest to goodness in five years I hope to have booked many more acting jobs (manifestation station!) and have toured locally with my own one woman show. Organizing and producing my own show taught me that I CAN create my own opportunities and with the help of my musician friends, we can really put on an amazing show. In the midst of this uncertainty, my hope for myself is that I continue on this journey of self love, acceptance and gratitude (even when things look upsetting). I hope that I continue to grow as an artist and a human emotionally and spiritually, and I hope that I have been able to create with my friends who are writers, actors, singers, producers and directors. I hope to be close to my family, and wish them health and safety. I hope to be easier on myself and continue to remember that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Being creative! Some of my favorite things to do are go outside, sing, craft (I love making homemade cards), bake and cook, color, go to the beach and engage in theater arts. I really love to cook, and I like sharing that with little ones who are curious about the kitchen. A simple balanced meal can help a kid feel good on the inside AND the outside! Crafting, coloring and indoor activities are also things I love to share and teach children. I remember how excited I would get when it would rain and my mom would spend the whole day crafting, making paper-chains, blanket forts or just reading her favorite stories with my brother and me. When it comes to acting, I LOVE putting on a show, or having a silly dance party. I am the queen of silly dances moves! Being goofy with kids is a big thing for me! I like to teach kids that they can do amazing things and be comfortable with who they are, no matter how old you may be! I also find it extremely important to show kids that they can have safe environments to express their feelings, no matter what they are feeling. Strengthening that ability to safely express oneself is something that teaches an invaluable lesson. When it comes to emotionally maturity and a deep emotional understanding of oneself, I say, start when they are young! Being honest and communicative is a skill that I show children how to put into practice and is something they will use for the rest of their lives.
