About me
Hello, nanny family!
My name is Elliot. I am an actor, singer, and manny living in NYC. So nice to meet you!
I have been a very happy manny in New York for over 13 years! My career in childcare started in high school, and by my junior year of college, I was a near full-time nanny shared by three families in NYC.
Upon graduating high school, I moved to New York for college, where my role as a manny really solidified. Childcare in New York is unlike anywhere else. After settling into school, I started working for a family in Chelsea with a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy. This is the job I credit as my "childcare bootcamp." I truly found my footing with this family, taking the kids all over the city to playdates and activities, theater, and shows. I worked with them for two and a half years until they relocated to California.
Since then, I have worked in various positions with a wide range of families. I've had temp positions with teenagers, worked in TriBeCa for a little over a year with a newborn, and spent three years with two middle school-aged boys. I'm also very grateful to have helped a family for five years as their kids grew from 6 months to 5 years old! I feel very comfortable and confident with children of all ages and personalities and am sure I could be an ideal fit for any family.
As a performing artist, I see my childcare work as an extension of my creative life. Being a nanny has profoundly helped me grow as a human being. I love the dynamic of working with parents to find a balance between family member and caretaker. Childcare is one of the few jobs that offers immediate gratification. Working with children often feels like "water the plant—poof!—there's a flower!" It’s a beautiful thing to witness the fruits of your service right before your eyes. I always end up learning just as much, if not more, than the children learn from me.
Working with children is an important part of my life, and I would love the opportunity to create new memories and work with a new family for the long term.
A little background on me: I moved to NYC in 2009 and completed a Bachelor of Music in Opera at the Manhattan School of Music. I am also a Meisner-trained actor through the William Esper Studio and a voice teacher here in the city. When I’m not nannying, you can find me at the theater, movies, in the park reading a book, at the gym, or seeing live music.
