About me

Hello nanny family!

My name is Elliot. I am an actor, singer and manny living in NYC. So nice to meet you!

I have been a manny in New York for over ten years and before that I babysat in my hometown on the North Shore of Boston. My career in childcare started in high school and by my junior year I acted as a near full-time nanny shared by three families in my hometown.

Upon graduating high school, I moved to New York for college, and here is where my place as a manny really solidified. Childcare in New York is unlike anywhere else. After having settled into school, I started working for a family in Chelsea with a 4-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old boy. This is the job I credit as my "childcare bootcamp". I really found my feet with this family, taking the kids all over the city, to playdates and activities, to theatre, and shows. I worked for this family for two and a half years, until they relocated to California.

Since then, I have worked positions of all types with a variety of different families. I have had temp positions with teenagers, I worked in TriBeCa for a little over a year with a newborn, and I've spent the last 3 years time with two middle school aged boys. I feel very comfortable and confident with children of all ages and personalities, and am sure I could be an ideal fit for any families.

As a performing artist I really see my childcare work as an extension of my creative life. I have grown as a human being in ways that are so profound being a nanny. I love the dynamic of working with parents to find a balance of family member and caretaker. Childcare is also one of the only jobs with sometimes immediate gratification. Working with children has often times been the experience of ‘water the plant’ poof! ‘Theres a flower!’. It’s a beautiful thing to experience the fruit of your service right in front of your eyes. I always end up learning just as much if not more than they have from me.

Working with children is an important piece of my life, and I would love the opportunity to create some new memories and work with a new family for the long-term.

A little background on me: I moved to NYC in 2009 and completed a Bachelors of Music in Opera at the Manhattan School of Music. I am also a Meisner-trained actor through William Esper Studio and a voice teacher here in the city. When I’m not nannying you can find me at the theater, movies, in the park reading a book, at the gym or seeing live music.
