About me

As a Midwest girl from a big family, I have always loved being around kids and exploring the world. I am one of four children. Much to my mother's chagrin, we are scattered all over the country but really place high value on staying connected and enjoying any opportunity we have together.

I have worked for museums, theatres, schools, summer camps, and pools! Some of my favorite things to do are being outdoors and hiking, playing with and learning about animals, going to museums, anything that involves being in or around water, and I LOVE reading! Since high school, I have been involved in job opportunities that allow me to work with children. I enjoy learning alongside the children; I find a child's innocent and eager desire to learn about everything infinitely fascinating and like to believe I share this mindset.

Education is very important to me and I believe that exploration is at the root of all learning. Having the opportunity to slow down and see the world through a new set of eyes and assisting those eyes in their exploration is a true gift.

I grew up in a family where both of my parents worked full time. My siblings and I had a live-in nanny for most of our lives. These women helped to shape us into the people are today. They taught me how to cook, sew, bake cookies, and complete a whole slew of different arts and crafts. While I deeply value the relationships I built with these women, it never took away from the relationship I had with my parents. We understood how hard they worked to provide us with many fantastic opportunities. I am grateful for my childhood and understand that sometimes parents need a helping hand. I would be honored to provide that helping hand in the same way my nannies did for me.

I have experience with newborn babies through high school-aged children. While most of my babysitting experience has been focused on children ages 5 and under, I have taught children of all ages in subjects ranging from English Literature, Composition, Theatre, and Shakespeare. I am great for after-school homework or test prep!
