About me

I'm a Brooklyn-based theater director/nanny originally from the sunny shores of Clearwater, Florida. I moved up to New York for college, where I received a BFA in Drama, a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and graduated with honors from NYU in 2014. Having started babysitting back in Florida when I was twelve, I have had the pleasure of witnessing and encouraging that uninhibited, joyful abandon from which kids play and live; it's why I've spent years watching, playing, nurturing, teaching, and learning from children of all ages, from infant to school-aged. I believe in creating a environment where children are free to play and express themselves, while also emphasizing good listening, safety, and following directions. I love outdoor activities and encourage getting away from screens and into other forms of play or entertainment, like drawing, playing games, or going to the zoo. My interests in psychology led me to my Child and Adolescent Mental Health Minor, which taught me the stages of child development, effective discipline tools, and childhood disorders, like ADHD and cognitive delays. It is for this reason that I am also well-equipped to work with special needs children and have done so for several families in the past. Above all, I believe in living in the moment, working hard but also having fun, and not sweating the small stuff, which is what I try to fulfill with each family with whom I have the pleasure of working.
