About me

I began my childcare career over 10 years ago with babysitting for the neighbours,and haven't stopped expanding since. I have over 10 years of childcare experience, ranging from Behavioral Intervention, to being an After-School Care leader at a private school, to private nannying for multiple families. I hold a BMus in Vocal Performance, and have studied theater, as well as musical theater, which allows me to implement a high level of creativity into my childcare regime. I'm very kind, gentle, outgoing, and always ensure a safe, yet fun, environment for the child to thrive in. I encourage minimal screen-time, exploring nature (hikes, walks in the park etc), reading aloud, and emphasize the importance of the arts: whether it be music, theater, or arts & crafts.

I've been a vegetarian my entire life which in turn gives me an understanding of the need for wholesome nutrition, and I am also well-versed in dietary restrictions and allergies. Working as a Behavioral Interventionist gave me many tools in understanding how to encourage new foods to be tried, exemplifying social play, and teaching proper toileting. Thus, I have been able to work with a broad range of ages and development, ranging from infancy to pre-teens, low-functioning to high-functioning.

Overall, I would say my philosophy with childcare is to encourage the creative, and imaginative play through the arts, while also giving the child an understanding of the world surrounding them by viewing nature, and how to still be connected to it.
