About me

The most rewarding work I have ever done, by far, is working with infants and toddlers. It's such a fun job! Children have a special ability to seize the moment at hand, and bring curiosity to even the most mundane activity. Being a part of a child's world can be rich and awe-inspiring, and deeply meaningful. This is one of the main reasons why I fell in love with childcare. The rewards are great, not only as a caregiver and educator, but through interacting with a child's unique, inquiring mind.

As a creative person, the freedom to explore and be outdoors is important to me. Being a nanny in NYC is especially invigorating as there's no shortage of indoor and outdoor activities. Riding the subway with infants and toddlers is an adventure all its own, and the vast number of city parks, museums and libraries is such a treasure trove. I love to cook, am very health conscious and take pride in the meals that I prepare for myself and others. Some of my most treasured moments involve cooking with toddlers in my own kitchen in Brooklyn. I love doing art projects with everything from watercolors to torn up bits of paper, and enjoy facilitating creative play with kitchen utensils and other less obvious objects.

I am well versed in the unpredictability of infants' and toddlers' moods, needs and desires. I am fully aware of how difficult it can be to find a public restroom in the city, let alone one that has a changing table. My calm and confident demeanor has enabled me to keep the children in my care safe and secure, and my experience has made me well prepared to handle all those unpredictable moments.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Having nannied for over 3 years, I am very skilled at infant and toddler care. When it comes to infants, I love showing them objects around the house and describing their physical characteristics and functions. This is a fun way to increase an infant's vocabulary early on and helps improve their eye coordination and motor skills. With my toddlers, one of my favorite things to do is to bake. They love being involved and helping, and it improves their ability to understand/follow instructions while building self-esteem. I sincerely believe there is no task too simple to be a learning opportunity.
