About me
I was born in a small rural town in Pennsylvania, and raised in a large extended household. I first began sitting with my little sister, ten years my junior. After graduating high school, I studied Physical Theatre in Italy and then at the Dell Arte International School of Physical Theatre where I received my Masters. After college, I taught clown/mask to children ages 5-18 in at-risk communities through the college, and formed my own program with a local Arts Counsel.
Since moving to NYC, I've done two Broadway National Tours: two years with Monty Python's Spamalot, and nine months with Camelot, performing in forty-eight states to over three-quarters of a million people. Touring really fed a passion for traveling, meeting new people and experiencing the vast difference in American cultures from state to to state, community to community.
When I'm not acting, touring, or babysitting, I spend a lot of my time in Inwood where I live. I have two high energy terriers, who I rescued, and we spend a lot of time in Inwood Hill Park and at the Cloisters. The arts are at the very knot of who I am, and a lot of the hobbies I love to do stem from the eclectic training I've had, my favorite being mask masking.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Continuing my work and connections as a professional actor, and possibly creating my own work and company. I also hope to get my certification in Alexander Technique, and become a teacher and instructor in my spare time.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love how children see the extraordinary in the ordinary, and I love to use my skill and training in theater, mask, and clown to nurture and cultivate that imagination. As a child I always loved those adults that could make the world seem a little more magical, and I hope to do the same.
