About me

My innate love for children and caring personality are two of the things that make me a great nanny/babysitter. I have over 5 years experience in childcare. I absolutely love kids and I enjoy spending time with them. My childcare journey started when I was 14 years old when I lived with my grandmother in Nigeria. My grandmother took care of her 10 grandkids, and I had to assume a role of a nanny/babysitter to my 6 little cousins (ages 4- 10) at a very young age. Having gone through this experience made me realize that I am at my happiest state when I am around children and I love every bit of it.

In college, I was involved in various community service activities that offered the opportunity to work with children. On my first summer break, I worked as a role model/tutor to children between the ages of 5 and 14 in Camden, New Jersey. My team and I collaborated with a church in the neighborhood to start a summer school for underprivileged children to keep them occupied and off the streets. The church provided meals and my team and I created a curriculum of recreational and educational activities for the children.

I am passionate, hard-working, ambitious, resilient and smart. These are qualities that I would like to instill in the children that I work with. I am also a very creative person. I love cooking, reading, writing, outdoor activities like bike riding, running etc. I hope that one day I can take all the experiences that I have gathered here back to my country to contribute to a positive change and better living conditions for unprivileged children.
