About me

I’ve been a Newborn Care Specialist since 2014, but my interest in child & baby care goes back further than that. Years earlier, I was working as a nanny for a family in Brooklyn who had their third child while I was working for them. Working with that family during the first months of that baby’s life, I fell in love with the newborn phase, and really enjoyed being entrusted to take care of such a little human. A couple years later, I learned about the NCS profession and decided to pursue it.

Being an NCS isn't just about taking care of newborns. The work also entails being the parents’ sounding board, providing general education on newborns and different milestones, advising parents on safe sleep practices, empowering parents to be confident caregivers, making product suggestions, keeping the nursery tidy and ensuring necessary babycare items are stocked, accompanying parents to baby's appointments (pediatrician, physical therapist, etc.), traveling with them, and more.

When you’re an NCS, the family you’re working with really depends on you, beyond just being with the baby. This might seem intimidating to some, but I love that I get to support families and help them navigate the proven transition of bringing home a new family member—a time that is typically the most exciting, exhausting, and challenging time in a family’s life.
You may have heard that new parents will always be sleep deprived zombies. But that doesn’t have to be true—and sleep is vital, for adults and babies alike. I have a high success rate with getting babies to sleep longer at night, in addition to the wealth of newborn care knowledge and non-judgmental support I bring to each and every family I work with.

Ultimately, I want the family I’m working with to look forward to the nights that I'm on duty. I want them to be confident, well-rested parents who enjoy the newborn phase. I want them to be set up for success beyond my last day working with them.
