About me

I work with children because it's selfless - it's a position where it's not about me, it's about making sure that child(ren) are taken care of, clean, fed, bathed, and all around just happy. It's so rewarding to be trusted by parents with their children -- the most important part of their lives, and they believe that my experience, my qualifications, my heart, are good enough to act as a caregiver. I use only positive encouragement and redirection with the children - never intimidation. I am kind and fair and creative - I am quick to make up an activity to keep the child busy and stimulated. I will send you pictures of the children making a mess but make sure they help me pick up and you come home to a clean and happy home. I love structured environments and will help teach responsibility, but I know that cleaning up isn't exactly "fun" for the children, so I'm quick to turn it into a game or sing-a-long.

I was raised with my seven siblings in a small town in southwestern Minnesota and have always been around children. Between the seven of them, they have given me 23 beautiful and perfect nieces and nephews, all of whom reside back near our hometown. I have always been around a lot of children - I babysat for family friends and folks in our town while I was growing up and continued sitting and nannying as I attended college in Fargo, ND, and while working in the apparel industry in Los Angeles. I have held various positions working at childcare and daycare centers, working with children 1:1 with special needs, as a nanny and as an as-needed sitter.
