About me

I am a caring and dedicated babysitter with 5 years of experience working privately in New York City, with a background in swim education, lifeguarding, camp counseling, and improv/theater education. I'm an active listener and clear communicator, passionate about creative play and actively interested in cognitive development. I try to keep the spirit of play in all aspects of my life and I love being able to spend my days imparting that to the children I work with. In high school, my friends called me "Mama Sa" because I was always taking care of and nurturing the people I care about. It's something I can't turn off! When I describe myself I often say I'm "a friend to children and animals," and I feel that's the case in my work. While I do the basic work of keeping children safe, clean and fed, I've never worked with a child I haven't befriended in some capacity. I give the care and love that I give my friends and family.

I've worked with infants, teenagers, and everything in between. I have experience with children on the spectrum, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, and allergies. I've worked all forms of families, single parent to multi-parent/multi-household.

I'm an aspiring writer and I spend a great deal of my free time working on screenplays and TV pilots. I love making people laugh and I spend a lot of time at the theater where I make comedy and tell stories with my friends. So much can be taught and soothed through storytelling and laughter.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Improv. All play is improv. It's a fantastic way to learn, explore and articulate feelings. Making up songs. It makes difficult tasks easier and lightens up slow or hard moments. Mary Poppins was onto something. Creative art. Almost anything can be an art project with the right intention and use of imagination. Swimming. I taught infant - teen swim lessons in high school and college.
