About me
I am originally from Arkansas. I grew up in a family of teachers, which I always said I didn't want to be. Only recently did I realize that is exactly what I ended up being, only on a smaller scale. I went to college for two years right out of high school as a Vocal Performance major, but soon left to pursue acting, and moved to Los Angeles. (Don't stop reading! I'm no longer an aspiring actor!) Acting was a lovely gateway to the other offerings of the entertainment industry, and I soon discovered my love of writing. I moved to New York and worked as a nanny for 3 years as I finished my BA in Screenwriting. I am currently finishing up my MA in Scriptwriting at Goldsmiths, University of London. I will be returning to New York in September and work part-time for the family I nannied for before I left for London.
I actually fell into being a nanny. I babysat in high school and cared for my nieces on and off since birth, but I had never considered being a nanny until a friend asked me to be her substitute nanny while she went home for Christmas. Afterwards, she started giving my name to people who needed a babysitter or nanny. I worked for several different families through her, and also through church. Soon after, I was hired as the Nursery Coordinator at Westside Christian Fellowship in Santa Monica to run their infant to 2-year-old room on Sunday mornings. I usually had one helper, and sometimes we had up to 13 children. For the two years prior to moving to New York, I worked for two different families. One family was the substitute nanny position that I took as my very first job; their nanny moved on and the family asked me to stay. I've learned lessons, patience, and of course, I have definitely made mistakes along the way. My mom was a special education teacher and my sister was a teacher, and I guess I just picked up from them while I was growing up and watching my sister raise her kids.
I am completely comfortable with and respectful of working with people that have a different belief system than I do, but I hope parents feel at ease knowing that I have a moral code that I adhere to.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to read with kids. It is entertaining, and I believe the earlier you read to them the earlier they will talk and develop. I love to work puzzles for motor skills. If they are old enough, I love to bake with them. I have found there are many lessons that come with baking, math being one of them.
