About me

As a child, I always had a passion to help others. There is just something so great about being an influence to others. As I grew older, and continued with my education and different experiences, I realized that I particularly wanted to work with children. I believe that every child learns differently, and I have patience to understand that these things take time. Over the last three years, I have babysat two children for a family, student taught, and had my own classroom. With these experiences, it brought my dreams to life, and I was able to do what I love, which is teach and inspire our youth.

I am a fun, energetic, and caring individual with the need to inspire and influence others. I live an open-minded life, and try my hardest daily to look at things from other perspectives, which has helped me mentally. By doing so, I am able to emphasize with others, and understand more from other points of views, especially those from children. I am dedicated, and have worked with children from ages 5-14. From those age ranges, I was able to see the social and mental differences throughout, and learned ways to accommodate each child. Every child is different, but also very unique in his or her own way. I believe in positive reinforcement, not discipline, and I truly enjoy being a positive mentor in a child's life. I do everything to my best ability, and I try to be a role model for those who I work for. My reliability and dedication for children is what thrives my work, and it keeps me going.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to be a literacy specialist. I want to teach for 3-4 years, then transition to a literacy specialist in a school to help those who struggle with reading and writing. I want to be the teacher who pulls in and out to help those who are struggling. And, seeing progress is what really makes my work all the more enjoyable.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to read children's books, and I also love to influence writing. Writing, I have found, is a way to heal the soul, and to vent. I love teaching writing skills as a way to be more open. I also love teaching reading strategies, as well as doing fun arts and crafts with kids. Seeing children so creative really drives some of my work ethic.
