About me

Children have always been a part of my life, especially since being in the theater business. Wherever I work, children are either in the shows with me or in the audience. It is incredible to me the amount of knowledge I have gained from kids. They have taught me to enjoy my ability to express myself without any fears, to embrace my inner child and freedom, and to continue exploring my imagination. There are many philosophies that I have when it comes to childcare. This includes, teaching them every side to a story, to not judge someone or something because everyone has something to say, to respect all living things and most importantly to have gratitude for the life they lead.

I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and started working with kids when I was 16 years old. I had established relationships with families in the neighborhood because my mom owned a business very close to where we lived. I was able to meet new families everyday while helping my mother and through that, would take care of their children. Although I was pretty young, my responsibilities included making sure they did their homework and had an appropriate bedtime.

Once I got to college, I took a brief hiatus from babysitting in order to focus on school, but picked it back up the summer before my senior year. I was a full-time summer camp counselor for a theater camp. From 9 AM - 5:00 PM, I would lead the kids in a warmup to help them focus, teach them songs and choreography, watch after them at recess, and keep them quiet during scene work. The kids I worked with ranged from ages 5-14. This proved to be a life-changing experience for me in many ways and I left this experience craving to work with kids more. With that, I decided to work part-time during the school year, helping kids with their singing and acting as a mentor for them. It was an indescribable time.

Mainly I am an actress, but I also have a passion for nutrition, fitness, and reading. I am constantly trying to better myself and find a way to live a healthy lifestyle. All of these hobbies and passions are integrated into my work with kids.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Firstly, I love to share my listening skills. Whenever kids tell stories I think it is imperative to actively listen and engage with them. I want to be the example and not only that, I want to make them feel special. Secondly, I love sharing my voice. This could mean reading and singing to them. Whether or not they like singing, I always encourage them to join me. I think it brings out a sense of companionship.
