About me

Hello! I would love to be considered for this position. My name is Lisa and I am a graduate of Pace University. I've spent the majority of my life creating art, caring for children, or some combination of both. I truly love to do both!

My first mainstay babysitting job was for a family with one child. I was with them for several years, and they are good friends to this day. My duties included after school pick-up, supervision of play-dates and playground time, as well as extra care on no school days and sick days. I was also responsible for taking their child to dance and bringing her home.
I had similar responsibilities with another family in Brooklyn. I have been an on-call or steady babysitter for families of various sizes, with children ranging from 5 weeks to 14 years old.

For the past two years, I have been employed as a teaching artist with several non-profits, and one private institution. I have worked in three of the five boroughs teaching theater, dance, violence prevention, and tutoring/homework help for k-12 education. I have worked in special needs classrooms and encountered a variety of special needs.

I began teaching in the city while I was still in college, with a music program that specialized in pre-school music education. My first job with this company was working in a daycare in Alphabet City, and my second was assisting with infant classes in Morningside Heights.

I have also been a camp counselor at a faith-based camp, and recently returned from my second year as musical theater/vocal instructor at a new performing arts camp.
