About me
I have always loved working with children. I began learning about childcare at an early age from my grandmother, who was a neonatal nurse. As I've grown, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with children in many capacities and consider mentoring and childcare as an important aspect of my future goals. I began working with the YMCA organization at the age of 17. Through the YMCA I had the opportunity to work with children from many different backgrounds and experiences, including children with various forms of special needs and children from vast social and cultural backgrounds. I was afforded the opportunity to work as assistant to the summer camp director and was also entrusted with creating an entirely new summer dance camp. I have spent the last few years devoting my time to childcare in a Montessori environment and studying the Montessori philosophy. I believe strongly in its tenants as I come from a Montessori family; both my father and I attended Montessori schools. Most recently, I served as Lead Infant/Toddler teacher at a Montessori school in Crown Heights and also teach preschool dance. As a founding teacher at my school, I have worked to create and implement a Montessori based curriculum for infants and toddlers transitioning from the home to school environment. I am currently working to create a platform where I can document and share my experiences as a working educator. I am slated to complete my M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from Banks Street College and my NY State B-2nd grade certification in August 2022.
Along with childcare, I hold a BFA in dance from Fordham University/Alvin Ailey and teach many forms of dance to children. Most recently, I have served as an early childhood educator for 6 years in settings ranging from independent schools to charter schools. My goal post graduation is to transition into teaching K-2nd grade in New York City Public Schools.

Dancing and singing. Any way that I can connect kinetic activity to learning is always a fun time for me. Singing and dancing are my favorite tools for teaching toddlers!
