About me

I've been lucky enough to combine my passion for creativity, adventure, health, and children all into one career! I earned my BFA where I studied fine art and art history with an emphasis in art education. I was first introduced to teaching through my position as an art teacher at the Columbus College of Art and Design and as a teaching artist through a variety of youth museum programs. I taught visual art to a variety of ages ranging from 3 to 13 years. I fell in love with education. I steadily nannied professionally throughout college, taught at an amazing, creative, and encouraging daycare, and continued to teach art as well as organic gardening to children through a number of community programs. As an infant and toddler teacher I have worked closely with children ages 3 months to 3 years. As a Pre-K teacher, I have worked closely with children 3 through 5. My experiences have prepared me and made me incredibly confident in caring for children of all ages! It has been an absolute joy to share my passion for creativity with children and to assist in creating a healthy, nurturing, kind, environment for a child to grow in!

I strive to be a nanny who supports individuality and celebrates qualities of uniqueness and curiosity. I believe that a meaningful relationship between nanny and child is based on trust and understanding as the foundation for positive and successful achievement in learning. I believe that as a nanny, I should be held accountable for helping cultivate a child’s fascination and joy, and that my most important goal is to open their eyes to the beauty and wonder of our world and their environment.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years, I imagine I will be continuing to further explore my passion for education. I would love to continue my education and potentially earn my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I would love to start an art studio for children and families someday!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As an artist, I love being creative with the children I care for! Imagination is such an amazing part of being a child and exploring life with a creative approach is so important in a child's development. I love to incorporate art, storytelling, music and dance. I love nature and getting outdoors. I have spent a lot of time studying organic gardening and farming and have had the pleasure of teaching children the importance of a healthy and sustainable life. I've taught yoga to children in the past and have noticed what a positive impact that can have on a child's wellbeing. I believe it is important to foster exploration!
