About me
I have been working with kids ages 6-15 for almost a decade. Summer camps, private tutoring, team-building activities... I love it all! I treat every child with an incredible amount of individual care and attention, making sure they are happy and safe!
Every child has unique strengths. By encouraging these strengths, I can help children learn and grow as people. Children have amazing perspectives on the world, and I pride myself on respecting their perspective, and seeing the world through their eyes.
I love playing outside and getting exercise. I especially enjoy playing and teaching baseball, basketball, soccer, and touch football. I think that sports are an amazing way to get kids thinking about strategy and sportsmanship, while keeping them active and engaged. I come from an arts background so I also enjoy doing all sorts of arts and crafts. I love drawing, painting, paper mache, beading, and much more. Crafts can be an amazing tool to encourage children's creativity and artistic expression.
As a former private tutor, I am trained to teach reading to children with dyslexia. Part of this training is understanding how to relate information in a style that works for every individual. This concept of individualized learning translates to general interactions with children. Kids deserve specialized attention!
I am super friendly and laid back. I keep things light and fun! I think children excel in an environment where they can be themselves. Still, I am very focused on and attentive to children’s safety and general well-being. I am certified in CPR and first aid for pediatrics, and have a great sense of when children are in distress. I am a very warm and happy person. I love working with children and watching them progress as individuals!
