About me

My experience as a nanny began in college when my roommate asked me if I wanted to stay home with a family friend's 18-month old baby girl for the summer. I did, and I fell in love with her, and loved being a nanny. The next couple of summers I spent working as a nanny for a family in Maine, with the ages ranging from newborn to seven years old. I've visited the family every year since, watching the children grow and continuing to be a part of their lives. My relationship with them has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

My love for working with children led me to a career in teaching. Throughout my years as a teacher, I taught children from preschool all the way through high school. The experiences I had as a teacher resulted in a deeper understanding of how best to work with children from all different kinds of backgrounds and in different stages of development. When working with children, I believe in creating a structured and nurturing environment that is full of excitement and learning.

While reading is one of my favorite things to do, I also love spending time outside, exercising and being active. I am a curious person who is passionate about photography, traveling the world, meeting new people, and enjoying life in all of its beauty and complexity. I encourage this same love of learning in the children I work with. I want to know what they are interested in and nurture those interests.

I believe we are most filled up when we are giving of ourselves, and giving of yourself is at the very heart of what it means to invest in the lives of children.
