About me

I am a recent college graduate, and earned my Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Theatre from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Since graduating in 2010, I have been lucky enough to pursue my love of entertaining. I love expressing myself through creative outlets, and that definitely influences how I approach child care. I think the arts is an amazing way to connect with children, and to help them express and grow as individuals.

In addition to performing, I have also been lucky enough to work for loving families and great children of all ages for over ten years. I find child care very fulfilling because I am able to watch these wonderful children grow, learn, and flourish. Also, I'm used to working with big families so organization and multi tasking is a most.

I've worked with many families in the past five years in NYC. Some situations have been after school care. So I am very comfortable with transporting children around NYC, homework help, play dates, and meal preparation. However, I have also taken care of many toddlers and newborns. When taking care of babies, I understand the importance of colors, textures, and music for development; as well as overall safety, sleep training, and bottle feeding. When taking care of toddlers, I think it is very important that they feel like their opinion is valid and that I care about what they have to say. A nurturing, safe, and playful environment for all age groups is crucial!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In five years I hope to be still living in this amazing city. I do have a lot of goals for myself, both in theater and in voice over work, that I hope to accomplish. I have an interest in going back to school for a Master's Degree in Theater Education. I would also love to be starting a family of my own in the next five years.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

When working with children, I think it is important to provide a loving, but structured environment. I think it is important to engage with the children that you are caring for, and make sure that they know that you are present and are interested in what you have to say. I like to be creative with children. It is fun to sing; write stories and songs; color; bake/cook with them (if the child is old enough to help); read; and play arts and crafts. I also like to take children to the park and get them up and moving.
