About me

Hi! My name is Rickina! To introduce myself I will use three words that sum me up; calm, organized, and funny.

A little background on who I am: I come from a very large family. I grew up with my grandmother who was the matriarch of our family. She had 5 children of her own and ended up raising most of her children's children. My early memories are filled with family functions, making the most of fun with my cousins, and taking family vacations. My grandmother has a lot to do with the woman I am today. She would literally feed your soul with the food from her table, be calm in high stressed situations and always find solutions to struggles that made us as a family stronger and happy!

I became interested in Early Childhood Education one summer, when I picked up a gig at a small day care center in my area, needless to say I fell in love. The gratification I got from teaching a child to tie their shoes, or watching children grow and learn from playing, literally filled my heart with joy. This is how I realized that I wanted to continue my path in caring for children. I recently graduated with my Masters in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Brooklyn College. With all of my knowledge about parenting and child development I aspire to create something that lives long beyond me that can help parents assist with their children's development and care. I look forward to working with children and their families in the meantime while I figure out what I'd like to do with my degree!
