About me
I was introduced to the notion of babysitting in the 3rd grade when I was handed my first "Babysitters Club" chapter book. I immediately became inspired and delighted by the idea of caring for children. As I grew older, I spent more time shadowing my older sister as she cared for my newborn niece and nephew. I asked many questions and absorbed the information like a sponge.
My childcare career officially began in my teens by babysitting some of the infants in my neighborhood as their parents ran to the store or a movie. I later advanced to volunteer work; caring for preschool-aged children during school events. With this foundation set, it was clear to me that I belong in this field. I decided to earn my B.A. in Child Development and Family Studies while simultaneously gaining experience at a home daycare, a preschool, an infant and toddler center as well as babysitting for families who enjoyed my services at the center.
Through my education and experience, I have gained the skills and knowledge necessary to feel confident in my childcare abilities. I enjoy every interaction I have with children and realize that every opportunity can be a learning experience for both myself and the child. I strongly believe in treating children as unique, individual beings who deserve the same respect as adults.
I am full of songs, smiles, hugs, creative activities and encouragement for each and every child that I have the pleasure of coming into contact with!
