About me
I grew up in beautiful Northern California where I was lucky enough to be able to explore every activity I was ever interested in, from karate, to violin, to volleyball, and many others. But I quickly focused in on Musical Theatre as my favorite thing and passion.
After graduating high school, I moved down to Southern California where I received my BFA in Musical Theatre from California State University, Fullerton. While there, I became vegetarian (currently pescatarian) and learned how to take care of my body as my artistic instrument through healthy food and an active lifestyle. I also learned how to balance the passion and creativity of singing and acting, with the left-brained business aspects of making it a business.
I moved to New York and stayed for almost a year auditioning and nannying for a wonderful family where I primarily took care of a 10-year-old girl after school. She and I became somewhat of kindred spirits as she had many interests as well and I loved seeing her explore piano, clarinet, swimming, and dance, as well as keeping up with her (ever demanding NYC) homework. Life is very much a balancing act, and we learned that together that year. We even sometimes used her free time and did yoga together to help relax!
This past year, I spent working with Disney Cruise Line as a MainStage Performer and enjoyed the Bahamian weather, and the joyful faces of the vacationing children. I can't begin to describe how wonderful it is to see a little girl get a high five from Rapunzel. Watching children experience something for the first time is really, always magical. And that's why I do what I do.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Teenagers
- Multiples
- Special Needs
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Traveling the world performing, and possibly looking at MFA programs to open doors for teaching one day.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
My favorite things to share are music and dance, as well as cooking and baking. Basically anything that lets them be creative in different ways is my forte and I love to find ways of making the ordinary day less ordinary. For example, if they love Mario video games, perhaps creating our own MarioKart track out of Legos is another way we could play. Keeping with the child's interests, while also expanding the way they play and see the world is very exciting to me.
