About me

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, the oldest girl to two very rowdy little brothers. You could say I've been watching over kids my entire life. My dad was a college athlete and so naturally I grew up playing all different kinds of sports, but ended up focusing on softball. Physical activity was and still is a very important part of my life. My mother is a studio artist and crafts were always a part of our playtime (I remember thinking it was weird that my other friends didn’t have a dark room and a kiln in their house). While in middle school I developed a love for music and the arts. I grew up taking piano, but vocal singing appealed to me more. I began to study opera when I entered high school. When I was ready to graduate and go to college it was a choice between pursuing a degree in medicine, or making the leap to music performance. Though the sciences were always of interest to me, my love for music won.

I attended the University of Denver (Lamont School of Music) and earned a degree in vocal performance. I entered college thinking I was going into opera performance, but quickly realized that a more theatrical art was my real passion. A large part of this realization came from assisting in children’s theater productions. I obtained a minor in theater and tailored my music degree towards musical theater. After graduation I decided I needed more specified training in the musical theater art. I moved to the big city (yes I’m a small town girl moving to the big city to pursue her acting dreams… so cliché!) and attended CAP21 conservatory. Now I’ve graduated from conservatory after 6 years of post-high school education and am beyond ready to enter true adulthood.

I like to create a secure and comfortable environment for children. I greatly encourage imaginative play and feel it is important that kids are able to express themselves freely in their playtime. I try to cultivate “screen free” play, and encourage kids to be creative. I like to maintain a structured and safe environment while educating through first hand experiences.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love music and theater and truly love teaching kids about the arts. I'm also very athletic and have a passion for physical activity and sports. I grew up playing softball, basketball, soccer and football and enjoy competition. I believe that everyone can find some physical activity they think is fun. I also have a fascination with science and biology and enjoy teaching kids about animals and wildlife. I've always been an avid writer and feel that it was started through imaginative play when I was younger. Finally, I have always suffered from serious wanderlust and have been fortunate to travel to many exotic places. I like teaching kids about the things I learned when I travel.
