About me

My educational, career, and volunteer experiences exhibit my passion for working with children. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in both education and psychology. Furthermore, I am currently completing my Master's in TESOL. I am a full-time elementary school teacher for the NYC Department of Education. I assisted in coordinating multiple after-school and tutoring programs within my school for children, grades K-3. Since high school, through multiple babysitting opportunities, I have been blessed to get to know many families and children whom have each impacted my life in some way. I have worked with children from infancy to 13 years of age, as well as children with special needs.

I am blessed to have the opportunity to provide children with the guidance they need to learn and grow. I believe while children need structure, they also need opportunities for creative play and hands-on experiences. My beliefs have led me to create safe and fun environments that best fit the needs of each child individually. I have learned to create trusting relationships with the families I work with and still keep in touch with many of them. I have had amazing opportunities with all my SmartSitting families and was able to learn a great deal from each of them.

In August, I am traveling to Thailand for a couple weeks to teach children English. This is an opportunity I look forward to because I have always enjoyed traveling and learning about different cultures. Being immersed within a culture is the best way to fully understand and learn. I hope to bring this experience back to my students to assist in broadening their global knowledge. I enjoy being involved in outdoor activities and teaching children the importance of appreciating nature. During my free time, I enjoy exploring new places and things. Taking children on adventures, to museums, plays, and different activities around NYC is something I enjoy a great deal. I also love cooking, baking, and getting crafty and creative! I am looking forward to meeting new families and working with your children!
