About me

When I was 15 years old, I decided to take my love of theatre and apply it to becoming a theatre camp counselor. It was there that I discovered my love for teaching children. For the past ten years I have worked on developing experience in both of these fields in tandem. While earning my bachelor of fine art's degree in musical theatre at Shenandoah University, I also spent the four years working part time at the University Childcare Center. There, I gained experience working with children from infancy through Kindergarten. I also got my substitute teacher certification, gaining experience with a wide age range including elementary school, middle school, and even high school children.

Since moving to the city 6 years ago, I have worked with many different families with children of all age groups. I worked with one little girl from the time she was born to the time she started preschool. With her I learned skills and gained experience in infant care that I have used with other infants throughout the city.

I am an artistic person and believe that art and music are extremely important in a child's development. I play multiple instruments including piano, guitar, and ukulele. I love to incorporate music into learning and studying and believe that it is always important to save time for imaginative and creative play. I am extremely cultured for my age, and have done a lot of traveling. I have spent a good amount of time in Hawaii, Japan, and have traveled all around Europe. I love sharing the things I have learned with children and helping their knowledge of other cultures grow.
