About me

I grew up in Queens, New York, in a close-knit family with my sibling, who i’ve grown very close to. As a child, I loved being outdoors, exploring my neighborhood parks, and discovering creative ways to have fun with my friends and family. I earned my first bachelor’s degree in Human Biology, which gave me a deep appreciation for science, health, and human development. After graduation, I pursued roles that allowed me to explore healthcare and community-based professions. This journey, coupled with my love for working with people, has influenced my passion for providing care and attention to children in a nurturing, supportive way.

I’ve been working with children for several years in various capacities, gaining experience with a wide range of ages and needs. For instance, I have cared for infants as young as 3 months, where my responsibilities included diaper changes, preparing bottles, introducing solid foods, and creating engaging activities like storytime and play sessions. With older children, I’ve provided support in homework, organized creative play activities, and ensured they stayed active with outdoor games. My roles have included babysitter, part-time caregiver, and teacher’s assistant, where I developed skills in multitasking, patience, and effective communication. My experiences also include working with children with special needs, where I prioritized creating inclusive, understanding, and adaptive environments. Additionally, I hold certifications in child safety and first aid, ensuring that the children I care for are always in a safe and secure environment.

I’ve always been driven by a desire to help others, which is why working with children feels so natural and fulfilling to me. Growing up in Queens, I was surrounded by a vibrant community and learned early on the importance of connection and care. I enjoy creating meaningful experiences for children, whether that’s through engaging activities like arts and crafts, reading together, or exploring nature. My healthcare background and experiences, such as working as a medical assistant and witnessing health disparities during my time in Haiti, have shaped my nurturing, empathetic approach to caregiving. I believe in fostering an environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to explore and grow. I find so much joy in supporting their unique personalities and helping them reach new milestones—it’s this love of watching them thrive that motivates me every day.
