About me
I grew up in Bloomfield, NJ with three brothers. As a child, I was always that kid who loved being home taking care of my little brother. He was my shadow that followed and wanted to be everywhere I would go.
I've been working in childcare for 12 years now. One of my most formative childcare experiences began when I was hired by a sleepaway camp in Pennsylvania called Island Lake Camp. There, I began by caring for our 6-9 year old boy campers. I spent 7 Summers at this camp where I worked through the rankings to eventually be Head Counselor, managing 100+ campers at a time, staff, and working directly with parents.
I was really lucky that my first nannying position was offered to me by the mother of one of my favorite campers. I worked with their family in Bridgehampton, NY where I would watch 3 siblings (two boys and one girl) as a live-in, weekend nanny. My second nannying position was one for a 2-year-old boy while his parents were working from home, and my third was with another with a one year old boy and four year old girl. This role was a caregiver / family assistant hybrid, and duties included laundry, making baby bottles, cleaning, cooking, strolls around the park, building castles with the big Lego blocks, and other supportive tasks.
Throughout these years, I've worked as an athletic coach for kids and was hired for multiple babysitting positions for children ranging anywhere from infants to preteens.
I love the magic that comes with taking care of kids. Being able to create a safe space and be a positive influence on them is so important in the growth of them being the best versions of themselves. Forming meaningful, long-lasting bonds with the families I work with is one of my favorite parts of this work.
Outside of childcare, I have a Bachelors in Dance from Montclair State, and am a former athlete and circus aerialist. I'm highly active, and love bringing lots of creativity and activity to all the kids I work with.
