About me

I was born in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I grew up in Tobago with four siblings in a small fishing village on the beachfront. As a child, I truly enjoyed the freedom of running around outside for most of the day playing with the neighborhood kids. I spent time exploring the beach, and the reef, fishing, and climbing trees and eating the fruits right off of them. My very first job was in childcare, filling in for a friend as a nanny. Caring came naturally as I had younger siblings and often played the role of caregiver. I graduated from college with an Associate degree in Human Services which is a broad umbrella that relates to families and human needs. My passion is caring for people.

I have been a nanny for over 20 years, caring for children ages 3 months to 8 years. I worked with single families as well as dual families coming together doing a nanny share agreement, in the capacity of a full-time live-out nanny. My responsibilities included implementing daily routines and schedules for feeding, napping, and playtime. Engaging babies with lots of reading and singing along with tummy time. Organizing age-appropriate playdates for social interaction, taking daily walks, and visits to the playground and other outdoor places of interest. I took the responsibility for all things child-related such as laundry, keeping the play area tidy, and toys clean. I assisted in potty training and I have also faced the challenge of managing kids with food allergies and being prepared to administer the Epi-Pin if needed.

I am a warm, caring, and dependable person who takes the responsibility of caring for others seriously. My primary focus and goal is to ensure that children are engaged in appropriate activities that stimulate them, promote growth, and help in reaching all developmental milestones. I pride myself in respecting boundaries and family Philosophies and I strive to maintain a great rapport and working relationship with my employers. I believe it takes special people to love and treat children with kindness; to protect them and empower them; to respect their views and take their cues while guiding them along their journey.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In excellent health. I want to continue honing my skills and having the opportunity to continue impacting lives. When working with a family, I am prepared and committed to that family, I have never quit a job in my nanny career, I look forward to building trust and bonds and fostering long-term relationships. I chose the career as a nanny and if for any reason I am unable to perform my duties as such, I will be on the other side of the fence assisting families in seeking the best person for the job.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Working with the seasons is great. It's Fall, and I love to create projects where we can use for example leaves to produce beautiful art, Halloween, using toilet paper rolls to make spooky stuff; all age-appropriate, baking some Christmas cookies, painting some Easter eggs. doing some no-mess fingerpainting with the younger ones.
